Most of you who follow me, know my love for gardening. I have been gardening with my mom since I can remember, but now that I have a property of my own I have been experimenting a lot with cutting flowers and different blooms. My favourites so far are cosmos, zinnias, peonies, poppies + Sweet peas. I love having fresh blooms in my house in the summertime. It might be my favourite thing about summer actually. This year we also have cattle and bees on our property along with my donkeys.

If you know me, you know how much I love photographing newborns and love it even more when there is a fur baby there too. Little Briar was a dream to photograph in the sweetest space. I love the colour palate they picked for her newborn session. The neutral tones are my favourite to photograph. Here are a few of the frames I loved most! Which is a lot, I’m sorry in advance!

Sweet Brooks. This little guy was such a dream to photography along with his little girl gang of sisters. They are absolutely smitten with him and it really showed during these newborn photos. I had the pleasure of photographing Brook’s mom and dads wedding a few years ago and their family portraits in between. When they asked me to photograph their newborn session, I was so excited. I love how intimate and sweet this session was with so many cuddles.

I have known Renee for years now as we grew up in the same community, going to the same school and in the same art class in high school. Renee has always been incredibly talented and a huge inspiration to me with her artistic talent and love for so many of the same things as me. I have been dying to do a session with her since I started shooting branding sessions and when she asked me to come to her home studio, I knew it was going to be an amazing session. Her studio is cozy. Filled with all her beautiful work, many plants filling her space and so many hints of bees. Another interest we share with one another.

When Devon reached out to me about photographing her partner Matt and their new puppy, Harlow I instantly knew it was going to be a good session. They wanted a studio space for their session and this boho studio space downtown came to mind first. It was the perfect fit for them. Harlow is a total cutie and I wanted to take him home with me. Here’s a few of my favourites from their session last week.

Today I am sharing one of my most favourite newborn sessions, not just because I’m obsessed with all the photos but because these people are insanely special too me. This is my cousin and her husband with their baby girl. I took over auntie status the day she came into the world and I am just so dang excited to have a little girl to hang out with!

Brianna literally slept her entire session and was a dream baby. She let us do whatever poses we wanted and happily slept the hour away. I even got to sneak in baby snuggles afterwards and that was really the best part.

Fitting all my feelings and emotions about this 8 day trip across the pond is simply impossible. I don’t even know where to begin. But sorry in advance for the abundance of photographs you are about to see. Including the insane amount of food that was consumed during our time there.

Monica, who is the talented photographer behind Calgary Boudoir/Red Bloom Photography and I have been friends for 10+ years now. We are the definition of instagram friends turned into real friends.

I have been shooting for White Bull Clothing Co for three months now, and before that time I didn’t realize how much I truly needed this community in my life. It is so much more than a clothing boutique, it is an experience and feeling apart of a community. Every time we shoot together I leave feeling inspired, full of life and my face hurts from laughing and smiling so much. Surrounding myself with like minded entrepreneurs, positive souls and inspiring women is what every one needs in their life. White bull shoot day is easily my favourite day of the week. I love being full creative freedom to shoot their gorgeous clothing in beautiful spaces. Here’s a few (hundred) favs from our last shoot together this past week.

Every spring for the past four years I have done spring mini sessions at the Saskatoon Berry Farm in their beautiful greenhouses. These are by far my favourite sessions I do. I love all the colours, textures and plants in this space. I had 14 wonderful families/couples come out this past weekend and it was such a beautiful day making some amazing memories. I am forever so grateful for the support and love from this community and for my photography. It is so rewarding surrounding myself with so many lovely humans. Here are a few of my favourite sneak peeks from the day. This past weekend was exactly what I needed to refuel and feel inspired.

This year, as Mother’s Day approaches, I am a little emotional as I think about my son and how everyday with him truly means so much to me. He was the first to call me mom, and now I get to happily celebrate this amazing day like I have always dreamed of doing. I never really understood how special this day was to a mother, until becoming one myself. The name “mom” doesn’t come easy to many.

I am so happy I started shooting newborn sessions again three years ago. These sessions fill me up with so much joy. I especially love when toddlers are involved. It adds a whole new level of chaos and crazy to a quiet and sweet newborn session. I remember after I had my second son, I was expecting the same type of newborn experience that we had with our first born which was quick, easy, quiet and peaceful. Cuddling and just starring at our first born.

My love for these three almost four humans is so strong. Ashley has the kindest heart and is such a good friend. We have known each other since we were in elementary school but really bonded after having children and reconnecting. I am so excited to meet baby Needham #2 and love on her. Thank you so much to Kelly’s Kustom Homes for the use of the beautiful show home in Langdon, AB. This space was perfect for this intimate lifestyle maternity session in the heart of winter.

I had the pleasure of meeting this sweet family last week and the minute I wanted into their home I knew it would be a memorable session. The sweetest little dude who taught me more about dinosaurs than I will ever know, a house flooded with neutral tones and natural light and the sweetest demeanour. I will never say this enough, I am so thankful for my job and the people I meet.

Baby Sofia was the most content little girl and happy doing whatever during her lifestyle newborn session last week. She is a lucky little one to be born into such a loving family. Their house was drenched with natural light and the prettiest scape of the Calgary city line. Which I knew I needed to include into her session. Here’s a few favourites from her newborn session.

Meeting sweet Sully and his family was such a dream. I remember walking into their home thinking WOW this is magical. It was filled with natural light, a jungle of house plants which is basically a photographers dream. Sully’s mama is an interior designer and wow did it show in this space. I love being able to incorporate peoples style and taste into their newborn photos. And I’m sure after looking through these images you’ll see how obsessed I was with that gallery wall with the “I love you too Honey Bunny” framed print. Sully’s relationship with his pup was already so strong and it was the cutest thing ever.

This is seriously one of my most memorable newborn sessions. It was so sweet, cuddly, intimate and quiet. Oakley is a proud big fur brother and wanted to be in on all aspects of the photoshoot with Baby Kingsley. Kingsley is the sweetest and just wanted to be held and cuddled the whole time. Which was totally okay by me because it adds so much emotion and love into the images.

I seriously have a soft spot for lifestyle newborn sessions and I love that my schedule is full of them lately. I love the dark moody colours in this clients home with the natural light pouring into their home. Baby Lincoln is the sweetest little guy and has two puppy siblings to look after him (you’ll see what I mean below). Lincoln was wide eyed and had serious FOMO during his session. But content and happy as can be the whole time in dad’s arms. I had a hard time picking my favourites, so here’s basically the entire session because they are all way tooooo good not to share!

I am sharing a blog post I wrote back in September. I never shared it, I left it in my drafts. I was embarrassed and ashamed and scared to be open and vulnerable with the world. Today, I gained the confidence to share this. Because I know, someone out there will relate to my words.
