Lifestyle newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your home. I will prompt and direct you but capture the candid moments in between. Your newborn will be swaddled in your arms, cuddled up with a sibling or a pet, laying in their crib or on your bed. Don’t stress about your home being tidy because let’s be honest, that’s the last thing you will be worried about with a newborn. All we need is natural window light and a clutter-free environment. These sessions are relaxed and comfortable with minimal props used.

Maternity & Newborn FAQ

  • I typically wait to officially schedule newborn sessions until baby has arrived, as delivery dates can shift and there are so many unknowns.

    Once baby is here, we will secure a session within the first 5–14 days. A 50% retainer is required to reserve your spot during that window.

  • Yes! If you book both sessions together, you’ll receive a 15% discount. I love when clients commit to documenting multiple seasons of their story.

  • All galleries will be delivered within 2-4 weeks of the session date unless we discuss otherwise.

  • You will receive an email with a link to your private online gallery. Inside, you’ll find all of the high-resolution images from your session, ready for download. Your gallery will remain active for six months. After that time, it will expire, so please be sure to download and safely archive your images.

  • While I’ve yet to experience a session where we couldn’t create something beautiful, it’s important to remember that children can be unpredictable - and that’s simply part of the magic of photographing little humans.

    To set everyone up for success, I recommend ensuring your child is well-rested (if naps are still a thing!) and has eaten before your session. And yes, I’m absolutely not against a small treat or a little bribery if that’s what works. We do what we need to do.

  • Great question. Wardrobe is often the trickiest part of planning a session.

    I recommend choosing a cohesive colour palette and coordinating around it, rather than having everyone wear the exact same colour. Avoid matching outfits - aim for complementary tones instead.

    For example, if you’re wearing denim jeans with a grey sweater and a burgundy scarf, your child could wear burgundy pants with a plaid shirt that pulls in the grey. The goal is balance and visual interest.

    I always suggest choosing your outfit first, then building the rest of your family’s looks around it.
