A real life angel on earth, I swear. We met a few years ago over a wedding meal tucked in a back room of a venue and I’ve been thankful ever since. There’s a calm confidence about her where nothing feels forced, nothing is loud. Just grounded, steady, and completely herself. She’s the kind of person who feels like light. When Nicole reached out to do a personal branding session, I knew we would create all sorts of wonderfulness and we did just that. I love how soft, warm and inviting these images are.

I love photographing this little fam so much, and I’m so grateful this isn’t the first time I’ve had them in front of my camera. This time, mom just wanted photos with her babies and there’s something really special about that. We kept it simple in the studio. Natural light, neutral tones, and letting the connection lead the way. Honestly, those are always my favourite sessions, the ones that don’t feel forced, just lived in. There’s something really special about documenting motherhood like this. Not perfectly posed, but real. The way it actually feels.

Some sessions carry a little more weight. All equally as important though. This lovely family has been facing the challenges of ALS, yet what filled the room most was their love for one another. Their outlook and positivity is something I really admire. Regardless of life’s challenges, their love continues to outshine everything else. I recognize photography is a gift, and from day one my goal has been to give something meaningful back to the people in front of my camera. The business side has always come second to the people, the stories, and the moments that deserve to be remembered.

Some sessions feel extra special, and this one is definitely one of them. Rhean + Scott are dear friends of mine, and getting to document their family over the years has been such a meaningful part of my work. I first photographed Rhean and Scott during their engagement session, then their wedding day, and now I have the joy of capturing their family as it grows with these adorable little boys.

A few favourites from this sweet little studio maternity session. There’s just something about keeping it simple. Soft light. Bare walls. No distractions. Just a mama in that in-between season, waiting, glowing, carrying so much more than just a baby.

The blog post I have been so eagerly waiting to post. And a long time coming. In the spring of 2021 we were given an old garage that was moved out from the city. My neighbours had it on their property and used it to keep their lambs warm in the winter time. They decided they no longer had use for it, so my husband was going to make it into an extra garage. After a whole lot of sweet talking, I convinced him to let me have it as a photography studio.

When I first opened my studio I did a few casting calls for creative sessions that I had in mind. When M + I applied, I knew they would be the perfect fit for this motherhood session I had in mind. Minimalist, open belly, cuddly and sweet. I started the session with these hanging floral instillments I made which I can't WAIT to use again. I just need to make a million more strands to fill the space. I’m in love with this session so much and I can’t wait to blow that little babes newborn session that I JUST hit export on!
