2014 Year in Review

As I wrap up my 2014 photography year, I am left in complete awe. This year filled my heart with so much happiness, love and more than one could ever dream of. The people I have met, the things I have learned, the many photographers who have helped me out, the footsteps left on my heart and the friendships I have made are more than I could have hoped for. 2014 was hands down the best year of my life so far. Not only did my photography business take off faster than I would ever imagine but my best friend asked me to be his forever. I am now shooting 7 weddings next year (as of right now) and also planning a wedding of my own! This past year was my first full year in business and I served 33 amazing couples, families and friends. My photography took me to some of the coolest places that I didn’t even know existed, allowed me to meet some of the most wonderful, down to earth people and allowed me to grow in ways I didn’t think were possible and threw me into some of the most challenging situations. I have learned more about myself, my goals, my camera and my relationships this past year. I learned that love is the most important thing in the world, if you can apply love to anything or anyone; you will succeed. I learned to ignore negativity, that it will sink you faster than you know. There’s nothing better than surrounding yourself around positive people.  I learned that relationships are truly the most valuable things in life, whether its with your parents, your siblings, your family or your friends. When you find something good, hold on to it forever. Don’t let go. I learned to be unique and be yourself. Do what you want and say what you feel. If people don’t like who you are, chances are didn’t need them in your life anyways. I’ve spent a lot of years trying to make other people happy by forgetting about myself and what I really want. This year, I made a point to put my wants/needs first, and focus on making me happy. I learned more about my camera to the point my head felt like it was going to explode. Each day I pick up my Nikon, I learn something new and I hope that never changes. I love being to serve my clients in different ways. I love being able to add my own personality and unique touch to each session. I am so grateful and thankful for each and every one of you who stood behind my camera this past year. I cannot thank you all enough for how you’ve allowed me to grow, how you’ve challenged me, how you’ve made me laugh and how you’ve impacted my life. I truly have the most wonderful job in the world, and all 33 of you are the reason why I am so happy! I am thankful for fellow photographers who took me under their wing allowing me to learn from them and capture beautiful photos for my portfolio. Your knowledge and help is so valuable to me. Thank you to my wonderful support team, my family, my friends, my amazing followers and fans!

My 2014 Highlights: Getting Engaged in Sedona, planning a wedding, welcoming 2 adorable baby girls into our extended family (Nancy + Brynlee we LOVE you), starting my new dental assisting job, photographing my first full day wedding, photographing glacier nation park with my future husband and saying YES to the dress!

My 2015 Goals: Focus on happiness, serve my clients the best I can and get to know each of them, focus on my wedding photography, add personality into everything I do, practice more yoga and love more freely.

Thank you so very much. My photos can only be as good as the amazing people that trust me to document their lives. So from the bottom of my heart, thanks so much to everyone that gave me the opportunity to work with you; you all shine your light in unique and beautiful ways. I am forever grateful for the friendships I have made along the way. Heres to making the next year even better.

Here’s to making 2015 even better. I am so incredibly excited for what it has in store for me and my amazing clients. Cheers to the next chapter of our lives.

Merry Christmas + Happy New Year from my heart to yours ❤
