A new chapter

Too often do we spend time pleasing everyone else, we get so caught up in trying to make everyone else happy that we forget about ourselves. We forget about the path we’ve chosen, our ambitions, our goals and our dreams. We continue doing the same thing day in and out, not because it makes us happy but because it makes the ones around us happy. We continue to see the same people day after day, because it is routine and we feel like we have too, they may not influence our lives positively but we feel like they should be apart of our lives. Us as humans are intimidated of change, conflict and failure; anyone would be crazy to say they are not. I will be the first to say that those three things scare the crap out of me. The thought of changing my career, buying a home or cutting my hair turns my stomach into knots. I try to avoid conflict at all costs because I fear hurting someone else. I choose to stay comfortable instead of living on the edge as failure intimidates me, the thought of letting the ones around me down scares me. Each day, I come to learn that the people in your life are the ones that make it or break it. I’ve spent too much time surrounding myself with people who influence my life in negative ways. Today and this day forward I will slowly weed out the negative out of life that is weighting me down. Heres too positive change, following dreams, setting goals, new friendships, ending old ones, closing negative chapters and opening up new ones!

I found a quote that suits my life at this exact moment, one that I plan to incorporate into my everyday life.

“You are only going to be as good as the people you surround yourself with so be brave enough to let go of those who keep weighting you down”
