I am a firm believer in happiness. I believe happiness is a way of life, and everyone should experience it their entire life. Happiness is a state of well being, the feeling of constant positive vibes rushing through your body and pure joy. Happiness is more than just a big smile on your face, its deep down a feeling you get from contentment with your life and surroundings. If there is one thing I have learned in my 21 years of living, it is that happiness is the key to success. Success in your relationships with people, your career, your goals and your decisions. Wherever you choose to go in life, be happy – whoever you choose to be with in life, be happy. Seems simple right? Easier said than done. I find it crazy that one tiny thing in life can offset all your other relationships. Who would have thought being unhappy with ONE person can affect how you are with everyone else? Or being unhappy with ONE job could affect your whole outlook on life? As stupid as it sounds, we all do it. We all are going to try and say we don’t but its small factors in life that contribute to the big factors.
You’re all probably thinking, ok…. what are you trying to get at here. Well, I decided I was unhappy with my career. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE dental assisting, I just stopped particularly loving where I work. It was affecting my relationships at home, as well as my attitude towards life. I was negative and a grump (I’m sure my mother will agree with me). I decided to put a stop to this unhappiness, and make a spur of the moment decision. I quit my job and decided to search for happiness. And let me tell you, when I pulled the plug and made the move.. everything started falling into place. My relationships started improving, my photography career started taking off – my weekends are now fully booked with sessions everyday till the end of October. It’s crazy how making one small change in your life, can enable you to succeed in so many other areas of your life.
Honestly, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I feel like everything I want out of my life, is soon going to come to me. One of my favorite quotes out of my favorite books says:
“If you see it in your mind, you’re going to hold it in your hand.” – Bob Proctor, The Secret
I hope this post inspires you to dig down deep and subtract all the negative/unhappy things out of your life. I promise, you will feel a huge weight lifted off your shoulders and the sun will start shining BRIGHT for you! Sorry for bombarding you with a personal post tonight, but I had too. Sometimes I think I should have been a writer! 🙂
