It is true when people say “you never know what you got till it’s gone”. These past two weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions going up and down. Darc has been gone for almost two weeks now, working on a big project in Northern Alberta (HIS first big project and he is killing it up there). As most of you know, Darcy and I are very close; we rarely go a day without seeing each other so when were rolling into day ten things start to get hard. You never really know how much of an impact somebody has on your life, until they are away from you for sometime. I know two weeks really isn’t THAT long, but when contact is limited and he’s working night shift – trust me; its hard. It’s crazy to think, even after four years of being with someone you can still miss them like crazy. You still get these funny feelings inside when you get to talk to him. You count down the minutes until he pulls up outside of the house and you get to finally see him. Heres to hoping that everything goes smoothly tonight and he can head home tomorrow afternoon.
I cannot wait to head to Phoenix on Tuesday for two weeks, just the two of us! It will be so nice to have some time to relax and catch up with each other. With absolutely nothing planned except for a family photo session, the time away should be nothing less than perfect! It should be interesting, this will be the furthest I have driven to a vacation destination. I don’t exactly like driving places, but I think it will be exciting to see more of the USA by road versus plane. Stay posted to see pictures and updates from our 26 hour long road trip there, and 26 hour long road trip home. Hope everyone has a great Canada Day long weekend & travel safe 🙂
